These images were captured using a Polaroid Colorpack II - a plastic snapshot camera from the early 1970's.
It reminds me of the haiku; a deceptively simple poetic form capable of producing works of great beauty, yet requiring adherence to a set of highly specific constraints. As an added condition, I limited my "vocabulary" to what I could find within a five-block radius of my home in San Francisco's Richmond District.
Such deliberate journeys through oft-traveled streets shifted my photography toward a more deeply contemplative practice.
