One Shot X 2 is designed to showcase the work of our members, who are all accomplished photographic artists working in various styles. In our inaugural One Shot in 2003, we had the challenge of selecting just one image that would represent our work to the public.

One Shot X 2 expands upon our initial concept of each person presenting one image. The challenge for members in the current show is to select, instead of a single photograph, a pair of images that are visually and/or conceptually harmonious. The final challenge is for us to sequence this exhibit of non-curated and non-themed work so that the show is cohesive and pleasing.

This year, as every year, we feel we have met these challenges, and we present to you a dynamic and intriguing show of our members’ work.

San Francisco photographer Michael Jang is acclaimed in both fine art and commercial worlds. SFMOMA has acquired his work, and will include him in its upcoming 75th anniversary show “The View From Here“. His photographs have been shown there alongside those of Robert Frank, Lee Friedlander, Garry Winogrand, and Diane Arbus. He has done head shots of Jimi Hendrix, Wynton Marsalis, Robin Williams, Frank Sinatra, Bobby McFerrin, Carlos Santana and many others. He will speak and show photos about his unexpected artistic journey. Come, see his work and interact with him in a Q&A session following his talk.

Rebecca Chang, Adrienne Defendi, Erin Malone, Charlotte Neil, Heather Polley, Angelika Schilli, and Kay Taneyhill will show work at the CordenPotts Gallery show, “Home for the Holidays.” The Opening Reception is Saturday December 5, 2 to 5pm. The exhibit is from 12/1/09 to 1/2/10.
